Mudstone Studios — Open Studio Pass Policy
The Open Studio Pass offers artists a flexible, self-directed experience in our shared workspace. Each pass includes four (4) individual studio visits that never expire, allowing you to create on your own schedule.
What’s Included:

Use of studio equipment, tools, and workspace

One bag of clay per pass

Bisque and glaze firing for work created during your visits

Staff support for basic questions (note: this is not an instructed session)
How It Works:

Each visit counts as one punch toward your 4-visit pass.

Please sign in upon arrival so staff can track visit usage.

Open Studio is self-directed—participants should have prior clay experience and be able to work independently without instruction.

Studio availability is based on scheduled Open Studio hours. Space is first-come, first-served unless sign-up is required at certain locations.
Studio Guidelines:

Respect shared tools, equipment, and the cleanliness of the space. Please clean your station, tools, wheel, and any equipment you use.

Label all work clearly with your name and date.

Only clay purchased through Mudstone may be used to ensure compatibility with our firing process.

Firing timelines vary depending on kiln load and studio schedule.

Work that is excessively thick, structurally unsafe, or created with non-studio materials may not be fired.
Limitations:

The pass is nonrefundable and non-transferable.

Visits apply only to open studio time and cannot be used for classes, workshops, or private lessons.

Staff may limit the number of pieces fired if the volume per visit becomes excessive.

Follow all posted safety procedures, especially when using equipment or handling materials.

Be respectful of fellow artists and maintain a collaborative studio environment.

The studio reserves the right to revoke pass privileges if policies are not followed.
