Learn how to apply chromatic, metallic finishes and crisp decal imagery at our Overglaze Luster and Decal workshop! These dynamic and sophisticated finishing techniques will take your work to the next level.
Workshop cost is $35/student, which includes luster for 2-3 pieces, 1 decal and firing. You must have glaze fired pieces ready. Feel free to bring more of your own lusters and decals as well and we'll load the kiln at the end of the class.
(Wearing a respirator that protects from aerosols is required to attend the works. Respirators cost an additional ~$35, a link for a supplier will be sent to students so one can be ordered ahead of time.)
HAND-BUILDING ORGANIC FORMS

Wednesdays Jan 4 - Feb 8, 6-9 PM
Join us for a fun clay learning experience! Students will learn pinch forming, texturing techniques, & slab working to create lively sculptures inspired by nature. We will focus on 3 projects: a large leaf inspired platter, a tree-trunk container, a large free-standing tree.

Thursdays, Jan 5-Feb 9, 6-9 PM
Mug making is an art in and of itself. Ian will take students through to processes of thinking through the form and function and designing and creating beautiful mugs of your own style. Students will create a couple of mugs each week and up their game from one week to the next until they have produced some mugs they can be really proud of. Clay to trimming to glazing. At least two prior classes on wheel required.
MAKING SMOKING PIPES
with Anna Frantz
Saturdays, January 7-21, 1-4 PM
Using several hand-building techniques, students will make decorative smoking pipes. Learn to build clean forms and how to embellish them with carving, texturing and glazing techniques. students can expect to make 2-4 pieces during this 3 week workshop.
BY WHEEL AND BY HAND
with Brittany Dias
Sundays, Jan 8 -Feb 12, 11 AM-2 PM
Learn the basics of making pottery on the wheel as well as some hand-building skills during this informative, 6-week class. Brittany will take students through centering and forming functional pieces on the wheel but will also include some table time in embellishing and building on these basic forms using rolled slab, pinch formed and texture stamps designed and created by you.

Mondays Jan 9-30, 6-9 PM
In this class students will learn construction techniques using slabs and coils to make 2 large vase forms. Students will be shown a variety of ways to mark, texture, and sculpt onto these forms to create charismatic & playful vases. Week 4 students will be shown how to glaze them. Great for beginners or intermediates.
BOWLS FOR BEGINNERS ON THE WHEEL

Tuesdays, Jan 10-31, 6-9 PM
Learn the basics focussing on the bowl form during this 4-week class for beginners. Adam will take students from centering and making simple forms through trimming and glazing.

Fridays, Jan 20-Feb 24 10 AM-1 PM
This class will focus on making bowls. Beginners are welcome (beginners should have some wheel experience and be able to center and pull up walls), while those with some experience will get a lot from this class as well. With just one objective in mind, students can expect to get better each week and refine their bowls into very nice, functional works. Students can expect to complete 7-10 bowls from forming the clay to glazing.
