CLASSES

We offer a variety of classes for beginners, intermediates, and masters of their art in

pottery, hand building, sculpture, glazing, and more!

*any students signing up for summer classes must be vaccinated against covid19. We are planning comfortable, safe and mask-less summer classes. All of our teachers are fully vaccinated and seating is still positioned 6 feet apart. 

Cancellation policy:

Students must withdraw from class at least 2 weeks prior to class start for a full refund, unless we can fill your spot.

GIFT DISHES

making goodies for the holidays? Bring them in your beautiful and festive, hand made dishes! This class will use the wheel and slab building techniques to make these keepsakes for the holidays. This class is great for beginners or intermediate level potters.

CREATE YOUR OWN PIPE

Learn how to create smoking pipes. Pottery experience recommended. Students can expect to create 1-3 pipes.

CERAMIC LIGHTED TREES

This is not your Grandma's ceramic tree! Starting with slabs of clay, students will assemble textured, decorative trees for the holidays! These trees will stand about 9" tall and be assembled with colorful, pin-in ornaments that are lit from inside with a small bulb.

POTTERY FOR KIDS (AGES 12-16)

Your child (ages 12-16) will learn the basics of making pottery on the wheel during the hands on, 5-week class. Start with centering and creating simple forms. Then learn to trim and glaze. students can expect to complete several functional forms.

MERRY MUGS ON MONDAYS

This intermediate level class will go over what makes a good mug, how to make a good handle and how to glaze it successfully. Students can expect to make up to 10 mugs, depending on their skill level

Take your pottery to the next level during this 6-week session. Ian will guide students in more refined processes in pottery making, polishing your skills.

MARKETING HELP FOR ARTISTS

Allow Hannah Powers of Seize the Clay Studios help you level up your arts business using social media. Hannah is a working artist who has over 27,000 Instagram followers and has sold thousands of pieces worldwide. She is a Bridgewater State University arts and marketing graduate that is passionate about helping you take your arts business to the next step. Hannah has experience in Etsy, website design, sales, marketing (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Email), branding, niches, hashtags, content creation, order fulfillment, monetization, and more!


Hannah offers one on one coaching sessions, digital downloadable courses (including a free one) that are specifically geared towards artists, and Instagram account reviews. Whether you need help with Etsy, monetizing your IG account, or branding, Hannah is your gal! She's done the hard work so you don't have to and is ready to help you on your creative business journey.

At Mudstone Studios, our artist instructors create a well rounded experience for students of all levels. Take a beginner class in hand-building or pottery making with Hannah Powers or Ellen Blomgren. Learn the basics or take your skill to the next level with Ian Buchbinder or Rose Esson-Dawson. Get really technical with Gil Traverse or Wayne Fuerst. Enjoy a variety of visiting artists from the region when we offer intensive workshops.
