pottery, hand building, sculpture, glazing, and more!

HANDLES, SPOUTS, AND LIDS

Take your pottery skills to the next level during this 6-week, intensified learning experience. Learn to make better handles, several lid designs and spout techniques. Students can expect to complete several, well thought out pieces.

*must be proficient in wheel work to attend

$265 includes clay, glazes and firings

Tuesdays, March 23- April 27 6-9PM

POTTERY FOR BEGINNERS

Learn the basics of making pottery on the wheel or take it to the next level. No matter what your skill level is, Ian will guide you through several pieces from centering through glazing. This very instructional, hands-on class is sure to be fun for everyone.

$265 includes clay, glazes and firings as well as open studio times

THE WHEEL AS A TOOL

This 6-week class will show you how to use the wheel as a tool alongside the slab roller, extruder and other tools to create beautiful and functional works. Students can expect to complete several projects to be glazed on the last night of class.

*must have at least 2 wheel class experience

$265 includes clay, glazes and firings

SCULPTED PET PORTRAITS

Immortalize Fido in clay during this 4-week class in making sculpted pet portraits. Students can expect to make one bookend size sculpture or two smaller figurines. No experience needed!

MARKETING FOR ARTISTS COACHING SESSIONS

Meet with working artist Hannah Powers of Seize the Clay Studios for a one on one coaching session. Hannah grew her Instagram following from 400 followers in March 2020 to recently hitting 24,000 followers with over 800 sales between her own website seizetheclaystudios.com & Etsy etsy.com/shop/seizetheclaystudios. She is a Bridgewater State University arts and marketing graduate that is passionate about helping you take your arts business to the next step. These sessions are tailored to you and your businesses’ needs (no matter how small or large).


If you have developed your skill and want to learn how to promote your craft business to a larger audience, these coaching sessions are for you


Hannah has experience in Etsy, website design, sales, marketing (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Email), branding, finding your niche, hashtags, how to write a captivating caption, how to plan out your posts (set it & forget it), content creation, shipping orders globally, etc. 

Pick between 15 minute, half hour, or hour sessions.

At Mudstone Studios, our artist instructors create a well rounded experience for students of all levels. Take a beginner class in hand-building or pottery making with Hannah Powers or Ellen Blomgren. Learn the basics or take your skill to the next level with Ian Buchbinder or Rose Esson-Dawson. Get really technical with Gil Traverse or Wayne Fuerst. Enjoy a variety of visiting artists from the region when we offer intensive workshops.
